History of the Generation

This is the same type of Ford Performance / Whipple collaboration package (Gen 6 3.0L twin-screw supercharger with dual-pass intercooler and exclusive calibration) offered as a dealer-installed option. Official ratings for the Ford Performance kit are 700 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm—approximately a 300-horsepower and 180 lb-ft increase over the stock 5.0L. The package is engineered to Ford’s durability standards, is CARB-certified for 50-state legality on applicable years, and is designed so the factory warranty remains intact when installed by a Ford dealer. The factory speed governor is deliberately left unmodified.

With further tuning, pulley changes, or supporting modifications (higher-octane fuel or E-blends, injectors, exhaust, etc.), these systems have demonstrated significantly higher output. Stage 1 to Stage 2 upgrades and custom calibrations have produced well over 700 horsepower at the crank and, in modified examples, rear-wheel figures in the mid-700s on pump gas and higher on ethanol blends. With aggressive builds, documented dyno results have exceeded 900 rear-wheel horsepower. Ford’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty provides 3 years / 36,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage and 5 years / 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage from the original warranty start date. As of November 2026, with approximately 17,000 miles, the truck still has roughly two years and nearly 19,000 miles remaining on the basic warranty, and more than three years / 43,000 miles remaining on the powertrain warranty.
